Here are the roses she got for her 14th Birthday. It was a great day for her.

For her Birthday we mixed icecream and cake together and had and ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Oh man it was sooooo good. Wish you were here to share it.

Today was Kates Birthday. I bought a dozen long stem red roses and took them to school and gave them to her dad. Pat recruted five great guys, and two favorite teachers to hand her the roses and sing Happy Birthday! The plan was to do it in class but they had an assembly and so it was done in front of the whole student body. She was so happy and the guys were hot! Then the rest of the day everyone continued to wish her a Happy Birthday. She said it was the best day ever.

Kord Renton Hatch was born at 2:54 am May 15th.
7lbs. 7 oz. 20 inches long.
We are so happy he is here!

We went to Lemuel's and Rachels reception in Payson. We got to meet Rachel for the first time, we loved her of course. She is a sweet and beautiful woman and we are so happy to have her in the family. I think she will be a great asset to the family and I know she is going to be great for Lem. For those of you who have not met her yet, I know you will love her she is the best. I am sure Lem agrees.

A Busy Month of May

Mission accomplished!

I went to the valley for a quick trip Friday and Saturday for a baby shower for Kimberli. It was lovely. I got to see the girls and play with them Friday afternoon, it was really fun. Kayla finally warmed up to me and Kenzie showed me her new jump roping skills. She is pretty amazing. Had a nice tour of Rubens home office. He is set up pretty nice and enough work to keep him really busy. The baby shower was lovely. Kimberli got some really cute baby boy clothes for Kord, and some other fun stuff.

I left right after the shower to come home for Cody’s prom date. His dad helped him a lot, it was neat to see the two of them work together for this wonderful experience. For their afternoon date they watched movies in Pats class room and finger painted. Then for the evening date they had dinner at the “Classiest place in town,” Mr. Owen’s class room. It was decorated with twinkle lights on the floor and the ceiling and large fake plants they borrowed from the church. (Without permission I might add.) They had fake candles and smelly candles and a big picture of the Eiffel tower projected on the wall and soft music playing in the background. They had fake walls of sheets hanging from the ceiling to cover the stacks of desks. It was really nice. Cody and Jake bought dishes to eat on along with Campaign glasses to go with their sparkling grape juice. They had a nice dinner with Mr. Owen, and Mr. Owens, and Pat dressed up in Sunday best to serve them. The food was in the next classroom over. Unbeknown st to the girls, Cody would send Pat a page on his cell phone when then were ready for the next course and the servers always arrived in perfect timing. The girls were very impressed. Then after dinner they went to the dance and danced every dance. I think they had a great time. Cody was sure pooped the next day. Both he and Jake looked really nice in their suites. We bought Cody his suite instead of renting a tux. I thought that was a great idea. He created that mom was going to help him out with his suite. What a great creator he was cuz I did and it felt really good. I spend more money on his prom date than he did but I didn’t mind; strange thing the law of attraction. He is really growing up. Today he showed me his class schedule for fall. Wow he is getting right to work. I am so proud of him. This is going to be a very busy month. May always is.

We have Katies Birthday on the 18th, Kords due date is the 21st, Kenzie's birthday is on the 24th, Graduation on the 22nd and Amber's wedding on the 23rd. Delma Hansen is getting married in Utah on the same day as Amber. Lem's reception is on the 16th and of course Stark Trek is playing this coming Friday the 8th. We have a family date to see it twice on the same day with a dinner date in between. Wish you could all come. Cody is spending a three days in Disneyland with the senior class, and Kate and Pat get to go to sun splash with the Jr. High. Kate tried out for cheer. Still waiting to hear if she gets it. Life is marvelous, life is great I love summer and can't wait to be together in May.

Cody entered two pieces in the NPC Juried High school art show and won BEST OF SHOW! for his drawing posted in the picture above and third place in airbrush for his T-shirt. He also was awarded with a year tuition scholarship to NPC. We are so proud of him. Way to go Cody! I will post a better picture when I get one. He will have his picture in the paper we will try to post that too.

We went up to Snowflake (the girls and I) for Kenzie Spring Break. We planned to stay the whole week, but it didn't work out. Mom, Dad, and Cody were all sick. Ruben found out and wanted us to come home. Kenzie was bummed about that but I told her we would come back soon and not to worry.

I did get to go to one of mom class and it was great.

Christie spent some time with Kenzie which gave me some one on one with Kayla. Christie and Kenzie played the wii and Kenzie beat Christie in all of the game. That was pretty cool for Kenzie, we don't even have a wii.

Well the following MondayMarch 23rd, Kenzie had a field trip to the zoo. She was very happy to go this year because I went with her. We were the orange team. It was Kriston (Kenzie best friend Page's mom) and I and Kenzie, Page, Betrize, Ashley, and Tiffany. Here are a few picture of our day at the zoo. It started at 9:00 a.m. with a bus ride to the zoo. We walk all over the zoo and saw many different kinds of animals.

I even saw some people there from Snowflake. I saw Karli Adams and her little girl, her older sister and her kids. I also saw a lady in my ward there with her Grandson who comes to Nursery and just loved it. We ate lunch at the zoo and had a really good time. Here are some photos of our day.

Hello everyone.

It has been awhile since I updated the blog. We have been very busy. I have been trying to get the book done for my next Journey to Joy course. And I have also been sick. I got what everyone else in the family had. I thought I was going to escape, but I didn't. It was a bad cold and lasted for three weeks. Ugh so there went my February. We have spent the last two weekends with Christie and Keith up in the apple tree pruning it. I have prayed for five years to get someone to prune it. Who would have thought it would be my kids. Keith's dad supervised. He is pretty amazing in that department.

Amy and Sterling and their kids surprised us with a visit. The intent of their visit was to bring Cody their Rodeo because they got a new car. What a wonderful surprise for everyone. And talk about timing Cody's transmission just went out on his van the day before. How perfect was that. We had a great visit. As you can see below.

On the way down Amy and Sterling stopped at the Dam. When Amy showed me her pictures Kira was standing beside her and started to sing a dam song. It went like this. Dam dam, dam, dam, dam, dam.... It was a lovely song.

This was a perfect Christmas for Cody. He got a leg lamp from Amy and Sterling and a shotgun from Santa. Today being a holiday we decided to try out the shotgun. Here are some family photos of days events

This year we brought in the New Year at Keith and Christie's house playing games. Rock Band was the favorite. After about an hour of "come on Mom try it, it's fun." I tried it and they were right it is alot of fun. At first I felt really retarted but I think with practice I could hit a few more notes.

They really are having fun. With Rock Band you have to think.

Keith is so good he can have a good time and hit the notes.

Starting off the Magic of the Christmas holiday season Amy and her kids came home for Christmas. It was a wonderful surprise. We sure missed her sweet husband who had to stay home and work. We also got off to a great start with an early visit from Santa. Here he is at the door. Kenzie was really ready to let him in. Merry Christmas everyone!

December is a GREAT month.
we started it off by going to see Twilight with the kids. Here they are standing in line. It was a good movie we all enjoyed it. Dad won't go. I don't think he likes what they did to Vampires in the script. I personally enjoyed it. I think he would too if he gave it a chance.

We have singing, hot coco, a nativity display and the greatest Santa in the world. He has a suite to die for. It is made of Norwegian fox fur. When we told him how beautiful it was he said, "Yeah I love my suite!"

Notice anything new?

Yep it is our new yard decor. I am sure we are the only family that decorates for Christmas with a lit up Batman on the front of the house.
Like the 500 people who will be driving by our house during the night of luminaries need to know where Mr. Bennett lives. I am sure all of the kid at the Jr.High will get it. Well that only means we will have an ample supply of toilet paper in the trees for next year. If that happens I am using Trudy Smalls cleaning technique of... light the end and watch it blaze. It is a great way to clean the trees when Dads not home.

It is a dream come true for dad. He started out small this year, to test the water I'm sure. He wanted to be sure Mom didn't hit the roof. I didn't. I am a new woman. We will see how big batman gets next year. Look how happy he looks.

Thanksgiving with the Bennett's.
We have our traditional Thanksgiving dinner at the Church because we don't have a place large enough to hold us all. But this year we were missing quite a few. Amy and Sterling just moved to Logan and Sterling got a new job and was scheduled to work on Thanksgiving. Bummer. But then he got it off so they went to his parents. Holly and John had dinner with Johns family, Emily and Jared are expecting twins and couldn't come. Jenny, John and their kids had it with their family, Amber moved to Tucson and couldn't get off work. Paula and Dan weren't feeling well. Dan is expected to have his surgery soon. All of the rest of the Bennett's stayed home and had dinner with their families. We sure missed everyone. Maybe next year. We thought we cut down on the food but we still had enough to feed an army. We love you everyone!

I don't know where Evelyn got this chicken "gravy pitcher" but it has always been a part of our thanksgiving memories.

Thanksgiving Is coming!

We were sitting at the dinner table discussing new possibilities for our Thanksgiving experience. Evidently we will not be going to the valley. Randy and Louise have both had pneumonia and Tina, Kristy, Randy and Louise are all trying to sell their homes. So we needed a new plan. I suggested taking a cruise around Catalina Island. Pat wanted to cruise to Alaska. It was too cold to think about so then we suggested Tonga. Katie emphatically said, "No, I do not want to be sat on by a Tongan!" I guess that is a real problem with Tongan cruises. It is probably a good thing we might have had our tooth shot with a bb while we were down there. We had a good laugh. Kim will never live that down and now we have one on Katie. I think we still don't know what we are going to do. But whatever you are all invited.

We went to Holly's wedding in Las Vegas. Our two star hotel turned out to be really great. We had lots of room and we were close to Amy, Sterling and the kids. It was fun. Amy took some amazing pictures of Holly in Utah there were too many great ones to choose from, I would love to post them all. Aunt Debi was thrilled with them. We can't wait to see uncle Kim's version. The temple ceremony was beautiful. I wish everyone was with us. Took some fun pictures of the trip here let's share.

Ruben and I are doing great. Ruben is still working for his older brother selling Insurance. He is doing great and getting more clients all the time. He is in Young Men’s for his church calling and just about every month he gets to go camping with them and boy does he loves it. Kenzie does too because when Ruben is gone she gets to sleep with me in our big bed. Ruben has lost a lot of weight and we are very happy about it too. He has worked hard, he goes to the Gym to work out with his brother G.R. twice a week.

As for me, well I had a miscarriage in July; it was hard for all of us. Kenzie kept asking that whole time why I lost the baby. That was a little difficult to explain, it was difficult situation but we are moving on. I am the nursery leader in our ward. It is a fun calling but at the same time it is hard because we have a good size nursery, we have 13 kids and only three of them miss occasionally.

I recently finished my Scuba Class and now I can go diving with Ruben.
This summer Ruben and I went to San Carols by ourselves, it was fun. We saw allot of neat things in the ocean and just had allot of fun.

Kenzie is now 6 years old and is in first grade. She loves it. We car p00l with one of her friends so that save us allot of money on gas. She has lost a lot of teeth so far this year; it is the age you know. She loves being a big sister. This summer she learned how to ride a bike without the training wheels and she now want to have a bigger bike. She also learned how to tie her shoes.

Kayla will be two this December. She has grown allot this year. She loves to say grandma, over and over, when ever she hears their voices. She loves being at home with me when Kenzie is gone to school and she loves to see her when she comes home from school too. She loves Elmo and is planning on being Elmo for Halloween. She has a favorite Elmo movie we watch every day, she also likes the movie, There a Kingdom under the Sea.

Ruben and Kenzie took a daddy daughter date and went to Snowflake to go camping and to see if they could call in some elks or deer. I guess they saw some because when they got home she was so happy, but she couldn't talk very well because she lost her voice but that didn't stop her from trying to tell me all about the camping trip she did with daddy.

Here are my kids.... Thus far I have 2, a boy and a girl. They're adorable lil' things and we love 'em very much!

This is Bitsy. She's about 7 months old (and not very itsy bitsy anymore if ya know what I mean).

And this is Narf when he was a baby. Now he's 2 years old! My goodness how they grow!

Creamy chicken & broccoli quiche:

Ingredients:

1 pre-made refrigerated unsweetened pie crust (usually comes in packages of 2 near the pillsbury doughboy biscuits)
1/2 big can of cream of mushroom soup
1 large spoonful of sour cream
2 pieces of boneless skinless chicken breast chopped into small bite sized pieces
1 small onion
1 head of broccoli cut into bite sized pieces
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup grated cheese
salt, pepper, & garlic powder to taste

Directions: First pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. In a pie pan, roll out your pie crust and set it aside. Next chop the onion in tiny pieces and sauté it in a large skillet with some melted butter on medium-high heat for 3 minutes. Add in chopped chicken with some salt, pepper and garlic powder and cook the chicken.

When the chicken is cooked, add in the broccoli, cooking that and letting the flavors blend for a few minutes. Turn off the stove, then add the 1/2 can of cream of mushroom soup and sour cream, stirring the mixture together until all is well mixed. In a small bowl, mix together the three eggs and 1/2 cup of milk and set aside.

Next pour your chicken and broccoli mixture into your pie crust/pan and spread the mixture out evenly. Then pour your egg and milk mixture on top of that. Finally add the 1/2 cup cheese on top, spreading evenly and stick it in the oven, cooking it for 30-40 minutes or until the egg is done and the cheese is a light golden brown.

It's good, easy and tastes divine! You guys've got to try it!

Kim couldn't get on so I had to check out our blog. Is anyone really using this besides me. We are not getting much family news from everyone. Isn't that the purpose of this anyway so we can stay connected in a new totally cool way.

Well we are home from Utah. Cody drove most of the way and I loved that. He is a great driver. Only one minor scare. We were delayed both ways. On the way up by construction, on the way home by an accident. So our trip was about three hours longer than normal, but we survived. Got some fun pictures.

While in Utah Kate and Cody went down the river with Amy and Sterling. They had a great time. We went to the Great Salt Lake to take some great pictures, but my interest wained when I saw all of the bugs..It was awful, not to mention I was bit by a huge one. I think I shocked Amy as she looked over the horizon and said, "Did my mom just take off her shirt?" Yes I did. I couldn't reach it and I had to get it off my back so I used my shirt like a towel. I was done. Aunt Lew and I went back to the car and loved on Malin. That was our fun. Aunt Lew got hurt while we were there. She tore ligaments off the bone in her shoulder and has to have surgery. I wonder what number this one is.

School started so early this year it made our summer fly by. We had a great summer. Now everyone is back in a routine. I have not been feeling to hot lately. Got something going with head aches. I have one everyday. It makes me grouchy. I dont like this, and neither does anyone else. I am trying to figure this out. Pray for me please.

Our next adventure is to go see Sterling, Amy and the kids and pick up Cody. Boy do we miss him. I hear he is having a great time though. He had quite the summer. He can tell you about it when he gets home.

Since we have been home Katie has been sewing, playing and nursing a nest of baby birds pirched on our porch. She is watching so that Aunt Paulas cat, who has been underfed since Uncle Dan has been sick, doesnt have them for lunch. She and her dad rescued two of them when they fell out of the nest. It has been fun. She reciently went swimming with Tyanne and got fried. Now it is a golden tan except for the peeling shoulders.

I have been trying to get ready to do some more recording when I go to Utah so I can count the trip off as a business expence. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

We took a water taxi across the bay to Bens place it was a cheap thrill, we loved it. We did alot of fun new things while in Seattle. We visited the Zoo, the Aquarium, the Science fiction museum, the shops, the market, city center, Space needle, theaters and we visited several parks. Saw a beautiful rose garden with every kind of rose you could imagine, all in full bloom. We ate out alot. We walked alot. We had a great fourth of of July with Pats friend Ben & Pam. They had a neighborhood parade of kids and parents. Games and then fireworks on the water. It was great. We decked out in Red white and blue for the ocasion. So you will see parts of this as we post more pictures. We are ready for round two.

We all had a great time on our vacation. We were glad to get home but we all loved being there. After two weeks at home we are ready for our next adventure. Hello family, we are all doing good Sterling graduates this week Yay!!! then he is done for the summer I cant wait! Kira had to change her dress today 2 times because she wanted one that was "shaky" Malin also fell asleep while eating his lunch. I got a new DDR game so I am excited to play, it is the Disney version so it plays all good songs. I also am so excited for Christie and Keith to come up I cant wait!

Hi Family,
Mom, Dad, Cody and Kate are getting ready for our Seattle Vacation. We are so excited. Cody is now at EFY in Flagstaff, and we are home getting ready. It is going to be so much fun. First flight for the kids. First real vacation in years. We will post pictures when we get back.

Work,Work, Work, Play....

Kate and Cody have been working this summer. Cody at Abby's and Kate throwing news papers and working concessions at the ball park. Pat is doing summer school and Circle K. I have been working on my web page creating positive photos with captions to go along with my course. I will post some favorites as I create them.

Well I might as well post first. Sterling graduates on the 5th of July yay. Kira and Malin are doing fine, Malin has 3 teeth now one on bottom and the two side ones on top. Kira is doing well she loves to swim and swing. We walk to the park everyday so she gets to swing alot. I have been unpacking and I love our house it is wonderful. I hope you all get to come see it soon. The pictures are of Sterling at his walking graduation, Malin at the park and Sterlng and Kira in the hot tub out back.
